Brakefluid Ro80

Hello,

Does anyone know wich brakefluid should be used into the brake system of a Ro80?

Hello,

use a standard DOT3 brake fluid. Don't go for DOT4, 5.1 oder SL6 or whatever they might want to sell you.

The reason behind is that since DOT4 and up, the fluid might not be compatible with the old sealing material. Besides - the performance of your breaking system is not increased with any of those newer fluids.

Micha

Danke Micha!

That's probably the reason why my Coralle Ro80 is now stuck on the brakes. I'm affraid I used the wrong brakefluid indeed for 3 years ago.

Now let's hope it's just the hoses, and not all the hydraulic parts...

What a mistake to make... And the best part of it is: I should have known better!

Hi Jeroen,

you're welcome. I had to learn that lesson, too. What the companies usually tell you is "100% compatible". However, what they don't tell you is the change of ingredients that makes the sealings and other "rubber" parts leak. I called a friend at Continental Teves who told me about this.

I hope it's only the hoses of your car.

Best Regards,

Micha
